May 09: Design a card game

Intro:
අද අපි කාඩ් ක්රීඩාවක් භාවිතා කරලා එකිනෙකා ගැන දැනගන්න යමු! පසුව අපේම කාඩ් පත් හදාගෙන මේ කාඩ් කට්ටලයට එකතු කරමු.
Today we are going to get to know each other using a card game! and then make our own cards to add to the deck.
இன்று நாம் ஒரு அட்டை விளையாட்டை பயன்படுத்தி ஒருவரை ஒருவர் அறிந்து கொள்ளப் போகிறோம்! பிறகு நாங்கள் எங்களுடைய சொந்த அட்டைகளை உருவாக்கி இந்த அட்டைப் தொகுப்பில் சேர்ப்போம்.
You will need:
Bristol board cut into 2.5” x 3.5” (3 cards per child: 75 blank cards)
Colored paper
Feltpens
Pastel
Pencil, pen, eraser
sketch paper a4
Warm up game:Sample cards to get to know the class (15 minutes)
Show the kids a stack of cards and ask one child in the class to pick a card. Let a few kids answer and explain why. Point out that the why is where the real getting-to-know-you happens.
පිළිවෙලකට කාඩ් පත් ටිකක් ළමයින්ට පෙන්වන්න. පන්තියේ එක් ළමයෙක්ට කාඩ් එකක් තෝරන්න කියන්න. තව ළමයි කිහිප දෙනෙක්ට පිළිතුරු දීලා ඔවුන්ගේ හේතුවත් පැහැදිලි කරන්න ඉඩ දෙන්න.
“ඇයි?” කියන කොටස තමයි අපි එකිනෙකා ගැන හොඳින් දැනගන්න තියෙන වැදගත්ම තැන කියලා පෙන්වන්න.குழந்தைகளுக்கு ஒரு அட்டைப் பொட்டலத்தை காட்டுங்கள். வகுப்பில் ஒரு குழந்தையை ஒரு அட்டையை தேர்வு செய்ய சொல்லுங்கள். சில குழந்தைகள் பதில் சொல்லவும், ஏன் என்று விளக்கவும் விடுங்கள்.
“ஏன்?” என்பதுதான் நாம் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் உண்மையாக அறிந்து கொள்கிற இடம் என்று சுட்டிக்காட்டுங்கள்.මේක කිහිප වතාවක් කරන්න.

Main Activity: Let’s make a ‘get to know you’ card game!
Steps:
Show the five sample cards. Ask kids: "Which would YOU rather — breathe underwater or fly?" Let a few kids answer and explain why. Point out that the why is where the real getting-to-know-you happens.
Introduce the rule: every card needs exactly two options, both equally tempting. Not "would you rather eat pizza or a rock" — both choices should be genuinely hard. Model one card together as a class. Pick a category, brainstorm two options, draw it out.
Each kid makes 3–5 cards, at least one from each category. Prompts by age:
Ages 5–7: Draw both options, dictate the question to a teacher
Ages 8–10: Write the question, draw simple icons for each option
Ages 11–12: Write, illustrate, and add a category label + card number
Conclusion: Try out your game!

Shuffle all cards into one deck. Play as a group — draw a card, read it aloud, and play!
