August 13: Personality Portraits

Intro

Todays lesson has two steps, to draw a self portrait based on something you know about yourself (your likes, dislikes or your character) the second part is to make a 3D mask using your sketch.

Self portrait: it can be abstract or based on your likes, dislikes or a personality characteristic.

Converting your self portrait into a personality mask!

You will need:

-paper

-scissors

-glue

-pencil

-colors

Guide

  1. Take a sheet of a4: Draw a self portrait- this could be abstract or even literal or with words/ different mediums. The way they see themselves- could also be based on likes/dislikes or the emotion you feel that day.


    2. Discuss: what about your personality is represented in your self portrait?


    3. Take another peice of paper or cardboard (preferred) and use any material you can find to turn your self portrait into a 3D mask. See link for examples of both.
